Absolutely not. Some of the client results you see on my page are actually from training at home with minimum equipment. Remember this one point: Fat loss is all about diet. Not how big your gym is or fancy equipment.

I have designed 1,000s of at home fitness programs with zero equipment. Now, I do advise clients to eventually purchase some equipment which can easily be stored in a cupboard.
This does not involve buying an expensive peloton bike which will eventually become and expensive clothes hanger in the corner of the room.

I implement cardio in 2 ways. one is to do interval style training at the end of your gym workout which takes less than 10 minutes. Second, I have a method called fartlek fat-loss which is 30 minutes or less. This will depend on your current fitness levels and time available within your schedule.

In terms of resistance training I prefer a minimum of 3x per week to maximize building strength and muscle.
